Colingo prides itself on developing an education-based community. Although you do not need a User Profile to view the Colingo video library, the Colingo Website allows users to 1. Create and share Profile information with other Users and 2. Upload personal videos to share languages.

I. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY COLINGO
Colingo collects information directly from Users for the creation of User Profiles. User Profiles are necessary to share information about Users in the Colingo community. Profiles may be linked together to form a network of friends to share, for example, interests, photos, or comments. Users can control the amount of personal information shared on their profile.
A. PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Colingo collects information directly from the User, such as name, email address, and age to authenticate Users and to send notifications to those users relating to the Colingo Service. While you may want to fill out the entire Profile to share with the Colingo community, we only require you to enter name, age, desired username, desired password and email. Users may optionally submit geographic location, nationality, languages desired to learn and brief biography.
B. NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Colingo also passively collects non-personally identifiable information, including IP address, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the internal operations of the website, track usage and improve the website services.
1. Cookies. When a User visits the Website, Colingo may employ Cookies (a small text file containing a set of alpha-numeric characters) to uniquely identify your browser. Cookies enhance User navigation through the Website. Most browsers automatically collect Cookies, however, Users can set the web browser to disable all cookies, however, altering or disabling cookies may affect some functionality of the Colingo Website.

3. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons). When a User visits the Website, Colingo may employ Clear Gifs also known as “web beacons” which are used to track the online usage patterns of Users. Colingo uses Clear Gifs to manage the internal operations of the website, track usage, improve the website services and improve marketing efforts.

Additionally, Colingo uses User submitted data, such as phrases, translations and comments for tagging Submissions for Website functionality. In order to protect your privacy, personally identifiable information should not be included in video content, including in the titles of User Submitted videos.

If you wish to subscribe to Colingo newsletter(s), we will use your Username and Email Address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, you may unsubscribe to Colingo Newsletters at anytime. To unsubscribe, follow the link in the specific Newsletter or send an email to privacy@colingo.org.
2. SERVICE-RELATED ANNOUNCEMENTS
Colingo may send Users strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if Colingo Service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.
Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to terminate your User Account.
3. CUSTOMER SERVICE
Based upon the Email Address provided, Colingo will send you a Welcome email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account.
C. LEGAL PROCEEDINGS
Personally identifiable information may be made available to law enforcement when required by law or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by Colingo.

Colingo does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from or allow children under the age of 13 to register a User Profile. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for Colingo or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. Colingo reserves the right to terminate any User Account registered by anyone under the age 13. B. CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 13 AND 18
Colingo recommends that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents for permission before using the Website or sharing personal information with anyone over the internet.
IV. SECURITY
While we will never ask for a Username and Password in an unsolicited email, Colingo is not responsible for the secrecy of Passwords. We suggest Users choose a non-obvious combination of numbers and letters and never reveal the password to anyone.
V. CHANGES IN OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Colingo will occasionally update this Privacy Policy. By continuing to use this site you agree to and are bound by minor changes in the Privacy Policy. If material changes are made which affect the manner in which we collect and use personal information Colingo will attempt to provide 30 days notice via email to all users.
B. SALE OR ACQUISITION
In the event of an acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, Colingo will provide notice 30 days before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
